SEND Planning Session
Dedicated time to explore your child’s needs, make sense of what’s happening and create a practical
Service Description
When there’s a lot going on, a quick conversation sometimes isn’t enough. This 60-minute 1:1 planning session gives us the time to look at the bigger picture and work out what could help. Before the session, you’ll have the opportunity to share some information about your child and the areas you’d like support with, so we can make the most of our time together. During the session, we can explore your child’s strengths and needs, what’s currently working, where things are becoming difficult and practical strategies that could be introduced at home or discussed with school. This might include communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, behaviour, routines, visual supports, learning, independence, reasonable adjustments, preparing for school meetings or identifying useful next steps. Most importantly, this isn’t about giving you a generic list of SEND strategies. We’ll think about your child, your circumstances and what feels realistic for your family, and use that to create a clearer plan for moving forward. Please note: Family First SEND Support provides practical SEND guidance and support. Sessions do not provide medical diagnoses, therapy or legal advice.
